We’ve had to stay in Provincetown a bit longer than anticipated since the Global Supply Chain Disruption has delayed what typically would have been 3-5 days waiting for a 100 amp hour lithium ion battery to being a week or two. Not the worst delay in the world but still an extra stay.
So here we are in October in Provincetown Massachusetts. And it’s starting to get a bit cold, and even a bit dark.
The solution has been to use the oven more in the evenings. When the temperatures drop into the mid 50s (12c) then closing up for the evening and baking something can produce just enough heat to keep us warm till bedtime.
With such a small oven we only have a single dish that will fit in so “stacking” our meal can be helpful. A popular technique on board is to place a robust vegetable on the bottom, place the protein on top, and then season the whole thing. Especially popular if we are wrapping the protein in bacon which was what we did last night.
Fennel with bacon wrapped turkey tenderloin smothered in mustard. And I did some stove top potato wedges to help warm the cabin up just that tiny bit extra.
Stay warm everyone.
