The housing market is pretty crazy everywhere. And so when Ryan’s landlord decided he was going to take over the apartment for himself there was little we could do.
Now obviously we could have forced a conflict and taken him to court but to what end? Shady landlords can do shady things. In the end we just started to look for a new place for Ryan. But in this market finding an apartment can take over a year.

Timeline shrinking, stress increasing, and Ryan had a seizure at work which cost him his job. He’s had seizures at times of extreme stress. For context the last time he had seizures was when he was actively being stalked. So it takes a lot.
Once that happened and with the need to first find another job and then hunt for an apartment we decided that the best thing would be for Ryan to return to the boat and to start the whole thing over again.

He’s disappointed but this is the way things tend to go at times.
Someone had joked when I had complained about needing to clean the boat’s hull that I should have Ryan come back so he could do it. Which is funny. Because that’s kinda what’s happened. And Ryan is now thinking he might just need his own boat where no one can kick him out of or take from him and his own business where he can have more control.
So Ryan is back on the boat. He has a plan that depends a whole lot less on things he can’t control, and we’ll be getting started this winter on helping him make things happen.
