Rockport juts right out into the ocean on Massachusetts’ “North Shore”. The town has a great anchorage with good holding. There is excellent protection from most directions but I’d be nervous in a easterly wind.

We spent several days in Rockport and in that time I personally tried to spend as much time in the Bean and Leaf Cafe. Good tea and a view of the dinghy dock and anchorage.

Overall the town has limited services but has a Walgreens and small grocery store within walking distance. The countless art galleries will make you wish you had more wall space. And the Performance Center with it’s amazing oversized window looking out over the anchorage made me quite sad that we arrived during COVID and didn’t end up going to a show.

Our trip was overcast by covid and cut short by Hurricane Henri with tropical storm strength winds forecast to be coming in from, you guessed it, the east. So off to the more protected Gloucester Harbor we moved.
