This March we left St. Augustine with a rough weather forecast. So we decided to go up the IntraCoastal Waterway (ICW) from St. Augustine to Cumberland Island GA. With our boat not being a speedster we ended up stopping for the night at Sister’s Creek in Jacksonville Florida.

It’s right on the ICW on the north side of the St. John’s river up, you guessed it, Sister’s Creek.

There is a pumpout but I’m not sure our boat could get in to use it, there is water at the two ends of the dock, and there is a bathroom although not a good one. Other than that there is largely just a big field and no real access to anything on shore unless you were to call an UBER.

Water wise though I wish we’d have had more time and I wish I’d dropped a kayak in the water. It looks like a great place to go explore some of the tributaries and the area by water.

Pleasant enough a place to stop but we were on a mission. To get to Cumberland Island in a single weekend so I didn’t mess with my work schedule. So bright and early the next morning we were off and north we went. A short pit stop at the fuel dock in Fernandina Beach for a pumpout and fuel. Then anchored before dinner at Cumberland Island.
